Derek is an Entertainment Lighting Designer & Programmer with a 15-year track record of crafting immersive visual narratives through light. His career so far has taken him from television studios to theatres, and everywhere in between. Expertly blending technical mastery with artistic vision to create evocative atmospheres, Derek is passionate about harnessing the power of natural light to inspire groundbreaking designs. Derek’s proven ability to collaborate seamlessly with creative teams helps to bring compelling stories to life on stage.
Today, Derek calls the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda, NY his home (away from home), where as the Creative Director, he lights over 120 live music events a year and spearheads the graphic and advertising design for the historic, 1,100-seat venue.
